Position Summary: Coordinates and oversees citywide internal and external communications, marketing, branding, and public information efforts for the City. Manages and maintains the City website and official communication channels, including social media platforms, to ensure timely, accurate, and engaging communication with residents, businesses, visitors, media, and stakeholders.
Develops and distributes public information regarding City programs, services, initiatives, policies, projects, and special events through digital, print, and media platforms. Assists with media relations, public outreach, emergency communications, and promotional efforts to strengthen public engagement.
Serves as a visible representative of the City and collaborates with departments to coordinate messaging, website content, marketing materials, event communications, public notices, and community engagement efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; however, the position is required to work evenings, weekends, early mornings, and other non-standard hours as needed for meetings, events, emergencies, or City operations.

Qualifications
Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field required. Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field preferred. Two years of relative experience preferred. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
Miscellaneous Information
Medical and dental insurance 100% paid by City for the employee; City pays 90% of dependents medical (for base plan) and dental insurance with employee paying 10%; Employee covered by $10,000 life insurance policy; Retirement: Texas Municipal Retirement System 2 to 1 match with employee contributing 7% and City 14%; 12 paid holidays; 15 annual sick days.
