Sr. Hardware Engineer - hybrid work schedule

Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our facility. This role involves the complete spectrum of electronic hardware circuit design for our Networking Products group. You will engage in diverse projects involving digital systems, FPGA, and interface designs. Your responsibilities will span printed circuit board and FPGA design, power supply design, test plan development for design verification, and support for product documentation and delivery. You will focus on developing high-quality, ruggedized embedded systems and various high-speed interface designs that meet rigorous commercial and military product standards.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the office, with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. The work primarily involves flight test instrumentation, including designing recorders to work with various acquisition products and sensors. Projects may include work with commercial aircraft manufacturers, military data recording, and battery-powered air vehicles with specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to develop product requirements.
  • Engage in both board-level and FPGA-centric design activities.
  • Develop power supply solutions that comply with both commercial and military standards.
  • Design product architecture and select components to meet customer requirements.
  • Generate clear documentation, including product specifications, architecture overviews, schematics, and parts lists.
  • Test or coordinate product testing to ensure compliance with product requirements.
  • Work with production and test personnel to transition designs to manufacturing.
  • Assist in creating customer-facing documentation.
  • Provide engineering support for deployed products.

Essential Skills

  • Over 5 years of electronic hardware design experience.
  • Proficient in high-speed digital design techniques.
  • Expertise in using schematic capture tools for PCB design.
  • Proficient with Xilinx and/or Intel/Altera FPGA development tools.
  • Proficient in VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGA development.
  • Experience with signal integrity simulation tools.
  • Proficient in EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a larger design team.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and leadership skills.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newtown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $81.73/hr.
