The APS team is seeking a Sr Product Designer who will be a creative member of our Application Development team, and collaborates closely with Product Managers to create structured, intuitive experiences for our users. The right candidate will have an eye for clean design, possess superior UI/UX skills, and be able to translate high-level requirements into flawless user experiences.
Your Role:
Design decision systems that improve the use of analytics across The Walt Disney Company
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into user-centric design solutions
Design elegant interfaces and user experience paths for custom analytical software that solves complex business problems
Design low and high-fidelity wireframes of application interfaces and convert them into technical execution points
Create effective wireframes, storyboards, and site maps to effectively communicate interactions and design ideas
Partner with Decision Science teams to understand how data science components are engaged and to show results in a meaningful and usable way
Partner with Decision Science Product owners to perform user research and understand business requirements
Present end-to-end designs to stakeholders across different teams
Collaborate with engineers to maintain and evolve our component library and design system
Advocate for user needs in product strategy discussions and influence roadmap priorities
Job Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, or a related field
Minimum 5 years'' experience as a UI/UX Designer
Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design thinking, from research through shipped solutions
Proficiency in Figma as a primary design and prototyping tool, including component libraries, auto-layout, and collaborative workflows
Comfort integrating AI-assisted tools into design workflows (e.g., AI-generated assets, rapid prototyping, content generation, or design-to-code handoff)
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
Experience designing data-dense interfaces - dashboards, visualizations, and analytical workflows
Experience with user testing, usability studies, and design iteration
Ability to translate complex analytical concepts into simple, intuitive experiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and defend design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to meet deadlines, balance workload, and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications: How To Stand Out:
Experience with Figma''s advanced features - Dev Mode, variables, and design system governance
Experience using AI tools to accelerate design exploration, user research synthesis, or accessibility audits
Experience building and maintaining design systems at scale
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
Understanding of data science concepts and experience designing for analytical or ML-driven products
Experience with motion/interaction design and micro-interactions
Experience operating within agile development lifecycles (discovery, planning, design, development, testing, delivery)
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development concepts
Experience with entertainment, digital/linear media, or related industries
Familiarity with other emerging technologies and tools
Additional Information:
Looking for someone who is experienced in Product web design. Figma a must
Location is Orlando. 4x onsite the first few weeks/month or 2 while onboarding/orientation and is hybrid (minimum 2 days on site) afterwards
