This is a high-level, client-facing role within a luxury custom millwork and cabinetry manufacturing environment. We are looking for a design professional who can develop projects from concept through execution, communicate effectively with clients and trade professionals, and produce technically sound drawings that align with both design intent and manufacturing requirements. Position Overview Our Designers guide projects from concept through execution. Depending on the project, this may include design development, drafting, field verification, shop drawings, engineering coordination, approvals, and production handoff. Some projects begin with a clear design direction, while others require full design development from the ground up. Key Responsibilities Develop custom cabinetry and millwork designs from concept, partial design direction, or existing plans Meet with and communicate professionally with clients, architects, interior designers, builders, vendors, and internal departments as assigned, based on training and demonstrated readiness Prepare design drawings, presentation drawings, and drawing revisions as required Develop samples, mock-ups, and client presentation materials to clearly communicate design intent and support client review Draft detailed plans in AutoCAD for client review, internal coordination, and production use Interpret design intent and translate it into technically sound and buildable millwork solutions Assist with engineering coordination, shop drawings, submittals, and related documentation Review layouts, dimensions, specifications, field conditions, hardware, specialty items, and related project details for accuracy Support takeoffs, specifications, change orders, and related project documentation as needed Coordinate with production, drafting, purchasing, and management teams to move projects forward accurately and efficiently Visit job sites for meetings, field coordination, verification, and measuring when required Oversee projects through delivery and installation follow-up as needed Qualifications Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design field required Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in custom cabinetry, millwork, residential design, or a closely related field Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel Experience with Bluebeam preferred Familiarity with rendering, SketchUp, or other 3D programs is a plus Revit and Inventor are a plus, but not required Strong understanding of drawing layout, dimensioning, detailing, millwork construction, fabrication constraints, and field conditions Strong verbal and written communication skills Professional judgment, polish, and maturity in client-facing situations Valid driver's license required Work Environment / Expectations Full-time, in-office position based in Bayport, NY Start time: 8:00 AM Local and regional job site travel required, primarily throughout the Tri-State area Additional travel may be required depending on project location Overtime required based on project deadlines and deliverables Compensation & Benefits $40-$55 per hour Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) Long-term growth opportunity within a highly respected luxury custom millwork company Why Work At Ciuffo Cabinetry At Ciuffo Cabinetry, technical skill is only part of the role.
