Senior RF Design Engineer - Antennas

Kforce's client, a growing engineering technology company in Orem, UT, is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer (Antennas). We are working directly with the hiring manager on this exclusive search assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of advanced phased array antennas, including both active and passive systems
• Design antenna elements, array architectures, feed networks, and beamforming subsystems
• Perform electromagnetic (EM) simulations using tools such as HFSS, CST, ADS, or FEKO
• Develop and optimize beam steering, sidelobe suppression, calibration, and array performance techniques
• Conduct link budget analysis and system-level performance evaluations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with RF, microwave, DSP, and systems engineering teams
• Drive prototyping, integration, testing, and validation in both lab and field environments
• Analyze measurement data and iterate designs to meet performance requirements
• Perform antenna and RF measurements using tools such as VNAs, anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, and near-field systems
• Support PCB/PCA design integrating RF, digital, and power functions (Altium preferred)
• Lead board bring-up, debugging, and validation activities
• Develop scripts (Python or MATLAB) for automation, data analysis, and performance evaluation
• Ensure designs meet regulatory, environmental, and reliability standards
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)
• 5-7+ years of RF hardware design experience
• 3-5+ years of hands-on phased array and antenna design experienceTechnical Expertise
• Strong foundation in electromagnetics and antenna theory
• Deep understanding of phased array concepts (beam steering, grating lobes, mutual coupling)
• Experience with RF/microwave circuit design
• Proficiency with EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, FEKO, ADS)
• Hands-on experience with RF measurement and test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, anechoic chambers)
• Experience with antenna measurement techniques (near-field and far-field)
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for modeling and data analysis
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (preferably Altium)

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with full system integration, calibration, and field testing of antenna systems
