MWH is a leading water and wastewater treatment focused general contractor in the US with a rich history dating back to the 19th century Fueled by the mission of Building a Better World our teams are rapidly growing across the nation As a company committed to our teams well being and growth we offer a supportive work environment opportunities for advancement and the chance to contribute to a mission that shapes the future Your expertise and ambition are valued here The work we do matters The critical systems infrastructure we build changes lives betters communities and improves ecosystems If youre passionate about this we want to hear from you About the Role MWH is currently seeking a highly experienced and technically skilled Engineering Design Manager to lead manage and coordinate the design efforts of complex water infrastructure projects The ideal candidate has extensive experience with municipal andor industrial waterwastewater treatment facilities and a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary engineering teams overseeing quality guiding permitting and regulatory compliance and serving as a technical leader throughout design and preconstruction This position plays a key role in driving successful project delivery by integrating design development with constructability budget adherence schedule performance and stakeholder collaboration The Engineering Design Manager will serve as the primary design liaison between the owner regulatory agencies internal design teams and third party consultants Essential Functions Lead and manage engineering design efforts for complex multi discipline projects ensuring alignment with budget schedule quality and contractual commitmentsDirect all phases of design conceptual preliminary final driving coordination across various disciplinesServe as the primary point of contact for all design related issues both internally and externally with final technical accountability for overall project design and deliverySupervise and mentor multidisciplinary teams including project managers and senior engineers while managing multiple concurrent projects as neededPlan schedule and monitor the design process; lead internal and external design coordination meetings P&ID reviews and 3D model reviewsEnsure design compliance with the projects basis of design and company quality standards through regular interdisciplinary reviews and design verification activitiesSupport project managers in proposal development resource planning scheduling benchmarking cost estimating and design change managementOversee implementation and updates ensuring adherence to company procedures and change management protocolsEvaluate staffing needs assign resources effectively and maintain accurate forecastingCoordinate with subconsultants and external stakeholders; negotiate critical design issues and contract terms with clients and partner organizationsEngage in professional development activities such as publishing technical papers serving on committees and participating in industry organizationsIdentify and support recruitment of new staff participating in interviews and candidate selectionProvide construction phase support including site visits and constructability input during designFoster strong client relationships support business development efforts and contribute to securing repeat and new project opportunitiesEnsure availability of VDC tools oversee record documentation and support delivery of closeout materials O&M manuals as builts etcTravel as required for client meetings site visits and coordination efforts Basic Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Engineering Architecture or related field;
