Advertising Sales
Responsible for preparing and supplying research information to customers, account executives and managers for presentations and sales promotions.
Develop customized research pieces and presentations for Comcast clients.
All pieces and presentations must follow corporate and local sales philosophy and brand.
Keep abreast of corporate direction.
Create materials from research tools to highlight trends, rankings, demographics and ratings.
Make suggestions on research software for local market.
Maintain and update research software applications.
Train and assist Account Executives and other sales staff in developing research skills.
Assist in the creation of area coverage maps and zone information.
Communicate research issues to Sales Teams in staff meetings, when appropriate.
Keep abreast of market trends and initiatives.
Keep abreast of possible new revenue sources.
Maintain positive attitude and team participation at all times
Perform other related duties as assigned. Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
Required Skills:
Two to 5 years experience in a communications-based industry.
Degree in Business Marketing, Advertising, Statistics or equivalent experience.
Experience in cable, media, or agency research or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in use and reporting of research data.
Demonstrated proficiency in use of Windows, MS Office and its components WORD, EXCEL, Power Point, etc.
Knowledge of Access.
Proven analytical and strategic planning skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to speak in front of groups of peers and clients.
Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Position Overview
The Market Analystwill contribute to the growth and profitability of Novus being the expert on publications and markets within a designated region, and work to continually develop and improve internal and external processes and relationships as it relates to media buying and planning information.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct analyses and create print media coverage reports, recommendations and maps for clients
Gather, interpret, enter and maintain circulation and zoning information into our proprietary database for all publications within a designated region
Become the expert on all publications and markets within appointed region in regards to circulation and zoning trends
Develop best practices / streamlined processes to improve the way publication distribution information is gathered and maintained
Contribute strategically (and provide insight for) ongoing system enhancements
Establish relationships with publications to ensure needs/requests for newspaper specific information are provided in an accurate and timely manner
Work directly with publications to resolve inconsistencies in circulation reports, zoning requirements and/or other complex issues
Own and execute a variety of special projects as assigned by account teams and/or manager
Create various reports as related to functions/needs of job or special projects
Effectively communicate and maintain working relationships with client teams and buying teams to ensure projects are completed correctly and on time
Track and communicate industry trends that relate to circulation and media buys
Qualifications
